Introduction to high school
Our school offers two high school programs recognized by the Canton of Jura and by the Swiss Confederation: in French and bilingual French-English. Gymnasium Matura holders have unconditional access to all Swiss universities. Our students attend their high school for four years, according to the recommendations of the Swiss Matura Commission and the EDK.
It is possible for our students to combine high school studies with elite artistic and sports activities. Our timetable, and the specific on-call and support lessons allow for optimal organization and planning of studies and other activities, as well as participation in contests or competitions.
Mrs. Coralie Herrmann introduces you to our school and answers a few questions you may have about our programs and the French-English Bilingual Matura Program.
The three years of Middle school are taught bilingual French-English. Students are led to progressively develop their ability to follow lessons in a language other than French for specific subjects. Collège & Lycée Saint-Charles places emphasis on personalized support to meet the needs of its students. Each student can find his or her own path, whether it is pre-gymnasial with an emphasis on an in-depth study of languages, sciences or Latin for a comfortable entry in high school, or whether it is more pre-professional with optimal preparation for the transition to technical high schools or apprenticeships.
Marie Julitte, Héloïse Kairys and Maverick Lekimpe are pleased to share with you their experience as teachers in Saint-Charles.
